HEPA Air Cleaner
 Reduce airborne contamination with this stylish and compact HEPA air cleaner for the home or office.
The HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter in association with an active carbon filter removes 99.97% of the smallest of airborne particles including dust, pollen, smoke particles, mold spores and animal dander.
HEPA filters were originally developed for use in clinical applications and are a breath of fresh air for allergy sufferers. They filter out particles >0.3 micrometres. For comparison, a hair has a width of 70-100 micrometres.
The whole air cleaning process is complete in six stages - please see side diagram, providing clean air in environments up to 15 sq. m at four air changes per hour.
This HEPA air cleaner also incorporates a built-in ioniser that replaces negative ions that have been destroyed by pollution and electronic equipment. Air contamination and electronic appliances such as computers and televisions lead to the breakdown of negative ions in the air. When the air is depleted of negative ions, it feels stale and stuffy. Generating the negative ions again makes the air noticeably clean and fresh.
The negative ions join together with dust particles, forming what are known as clusters. The negative charge these clusters have make them precipitate out of the atmosphere and stick to surfaces leaving the atmosphere clear of pollutants. This is so effective that ionisers are now being used in hospitals to suppress the transfer of air borne viruses.
The ioniser function can be turned off or on independently when the unit is operating.
The unit is simple to use with an on/off button for constant use or there is a built-in timer with auto shut off feature after 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours.
This HEPA Air Cleanser has twin motors, three speed settings and is almost inaudible on the lowest one.
The control panel is an LED display.
There is a apple scent cartridge for added air fragrance.
Power consumption is 40W - less then a light bulb.
The unit can be placed vertical or horizontally.
Regular filter replacement is a prerequisite for hygienic, trouble-free operation. The filter should be changed every 6 months, depending on use.
