The 2441 Icon humidifier is one of the few humidifiers in the World to ever be awarded the prestigious reddot design award. This is an international award decided on by a panel of expert judges and given to products that demonstrate outstanding principals of design and functionality. The 2441 Icon follows a new concept in evaporative humidifiers. The airflow is guided over a floating evaporator pad, which allows an almost constant release of moisture regardless of the water level. Special attention was devoted to designing a unit that is easily and intuitively operated. The funnel-shaped filling port at the upper part the humidifier can easily be filled from above with a watering can. The evaporator pad in the device is wetted with water so that the humidifier is ready for use immediately after filling. The top of the floating evaporator pad also acts as water level indicator. A ring-shaped filling level limit signals the user when the maximum water level is reached. Interacting matt and glossy surfaces give the device its characteristic appearance. High-gloss surfaces indicate the “flowing” and “streaming” of air and water. This humidifier works on the self-regulating evaporation principle (air only evaporates as much water as it requires) and thus it requires no additional control systems to ensure optimal air humidity. It is also very economical to run as unlike steam humidifiers, the water doesn’t need to be boiled - it simply evaporates.
The 2441 Icon humidifier also comes with an antibacterial ionic silver stick. This device sits inside the water tank and inhibits the development of bacteria and fungi on the evaporator pad. The 2441 Icon is very quiet at just 25dBA – the breathing noise of a sleeping baby.
